Look at the top of the shaft: it rises into two points. No other boot looks like this. Underneath that shape is everything you expect from us: two zips, soft unlined leather, a round toe with room, and a new footbed that lifts straight out.
Medium width with a round, roomy toe. Not sure between two sizes? Send us a message before you order.
Read the size adviceThe Voorsterveld belongs to our Fusion group, known for round lines and surprising shapes. The two points at the top of the shaft make it unmistakable. We love how they look, but we never forget what a shoe is for: the points are there to help you put it on.
You notice them from across the room, and they are made to be used. Pull on the points to slip the boot on, so you need to bend down less. They are built for it, so pull without worry.
For many people one zip is enough to get in and out. Open both and you get extra room to slide your foot in easily.
Soft leather without a lining. It shapes itself to your foot, it breathes, and there are no seams inside to chafe.
The footbed is new this season and it comes out, so your own orthotic fits in.
We make every colour in a small batch, so what you see is what there is. Crossed-out sizes are sold out. Sizes with a red border are down to the last pairs.

Deep red-brown that works with black, grey and denim. Size 42 is sold out. Sizes 36 and 40 are down to the last pairs.

Dark blue, quieter than black. Sizes 36, 40 and 42 are down to the last pairs.
Email or chat with us before you order. We know how this boot fits and which size works for a wide foot or a high instep. We answer in your language, usually the same day.

We believe in building in parts, out of a circular way of thinking. The footbed lifts straight out, so what wears out gets replaced and the rest simply carries on.
The lasts are ours. They do not sit on a factory shelf for anyone to use. That is why a pair from Loints of Holland still feels familiar after ten years.
As far as we are concerned, the pleasure of a shoe is not in buying it, and not in how many pairs are in the cupboard. It is in the years you wear it. So we do not design something you tire of after a season, but something you grow fonder of as it wears.
That is also how we look at sustainability, through the R-ladder. Most of the gain sits at the top of that ladder, in making less and using longer, not at the bottom in recycling. But using longer only works if you still want to wear the shoe. Repairability is the engineering underneath, the design is the reason.
Loints of Holland is renewing itself as a company. Not by becoming something else, but by going back to what it was about in the first place: a shoe that shapes itself to the foot, made of material that comes from somewhere. This winter’s collection shows what that means. What we develop along the way, we do not keep quiet.
We held the Voorsterveld back until it had a better footbed. That footbed has arrived, and that is why this boot is back.
We measure how our models actually fit and put it on the page, even when it costs us a sale.
We would rather make a few hundred pairs in a colour that is right than fill a warehouse. New colours arrive step by step.
The rest of the winter follows, model by model, as soon as we can stand behind it.
That a shoe should shape itself to the foot and not the other way round. That started in 1918 and it has never changed. We do not make shoes you have to break in until they hurt, but shoes you stand in without thinking about them all day.
We would rather tell you in advance how a shoe fits than have you send it back. For the Voorsterveld, this is what to know.
The Voorsterveld has a medium width. The toe is round and wide, so your toes have room instead of tapering to a point.
The opening is wide. One zip is often enough; open both for extra room. Pull on the two points and you need to bend down less.
The footbed comes out. If you wear your own insole, allow for half a size of extra room.
Email or chat us with your usual size and the width of your foot, and we will tell you which size we would send. In your language.
No, it is leather without a membrane. With a good waterproofing spray it handles a rain shower well, but it is not made for walking through puddles.
Yes, that is what they are for. They help you pull the boot on without bending down as far, and they are made to take it.
Yes. The footbed is removable, so your own insole fits in. If you want more room in height, a thinner footbed gives you that straight away.
That depends on how you wear them. A collapsed footbed takes a minute to replace yourself, and it makes more difference than you would think. The boot itself lasts years longer.
Then you register it yourself in our returns portal. There you say whether you want another size, another colour, or simply your money back. You can return within thirty days. In the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France and Italy that is free; elsewhere you pay the return shipping. If you are not sure which size to pick, send us a message first.
Every colour is a small batch. New colours arrive step by step, so these three will not be here forever.
Because of the two points at the top of the shaft, and because the last is different. Our lasts are round and wide at the front, so your toes have room instead of tapering to a point. The round lines and surprising shapes of the Fusion group follow from that.
No, unlined leather, and that is a deliberate choice. The leather shapes itself better to your foot, there is no lining that can chafe at the seams, and it breathes better. That is why you can wear them across more of the year. For the cold months: add a wool sock. It does the work of a lining, and you can wash it.
Three colours, sizes 36 to 42, and size advice from someone who has held the last in their own hands.
Zo’n andere schoen.
Groet, Ronald
I am, too, concerned that the quality of the shoes isn't what it used to be when they were manufactured in Hungary.
I wear your shoes and sandals almost exclusively. I already own two pairs (along with other models), but after years of wear, they’ve worn out; I wanted to get another pair, but I’m forced to return them.
The finish doesn't seem up to the same standard, the red zipper has changed—looking much less attractive—and, most importantly, the sizing has changed. The new shoes won't close on my feet.
It’s really disappointing.
Thank you for writing this, Nili. You are right that this should not happen with a shoe we have made for years, and I am sorry it did. I have found the order and will you by email to put it right.
